EHCP Steering Group Print E-mail

The Steering Group of the East Hampshire Community Partnership is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the Partnership and monitoring the success of its work. You can read about our formal responsibilities in our Terms of Reference on our Documents page.

Through consultation with our many partners we have derived our current Sustainable Community Strategy, which you can also look at on our Documents page. We have formed a number of sub-groups to tackle each specific priority area in the Strategy, and each of these sub-groups itself a Partnership of the relevant statutory and voluntary bodies in the District. The Steering Group is ensuring these sub-groups have the right membership, a clear programme of work and measurable targets and will be giving them every encouragement and assistance to achieve their objectives. You can follow the progress of each of these sub-groups on this website.

Following a review of the Partnership in early 2010 another layer was added to the Partnership structure bringing together the Chairs of all our sub-groups. This group meets five times per year in the same day as the Steering Group meets. The purpose of this group is to share successes, give support on issues and problems and to identify opportunities for joint sub-group working. Any key successes or problems discussed in this meeting are fed back to the Steering Group in the afternoon.

Members of the Steering Group are drawn from a wide range of statutory and voluntary organisations working for the benefit of the District, who together with East Hampshire District Councillors and the Council's Community Team have a great knowledge of the District, its problems and its strengths. I believe we are an excellent example of Partnership Working. (Chris Leggett, former Chairman)
