The Disability Forum is a voluntary organisation and all members are volunteers. We have representation from all areas of disability, for example physical, sensory, learning disability and mental health illness. Currently we would really benefit from having some more input from anyone who is interested to advise and work with us in the field of Mental Health illness. We are a totally user led organisation with members ranging from 18-20 years old, right through to people in their 80’s. 

We are there to support and understand each other but also improve the quality of life of people in our community in East Hampshire who may be experiencing any of these disabilities. We have established good partnership working and have developed a strong voice among our partnership organisations, namely East Hampshire District Council. We also have representation on the East Hampshire Community Partnership Steering Group, Hampshire County Council, East Hampshire Community First and other voluntary community organisations that work specifically with disabled people.

• Raise the profile of disabled people in the community;
• Provide an accessible contact point for disabled people;
• Inform people on disability issues;
• Advise on the Disability Discrimination Act, help people understand it and encourage good practice; and
• Identify what is not provided for disabled people
